Harvesters - Arcadia Rodeo
Dates & Times
Oct 19, 201911:30am - 6:30pm
Have you ever wanted to see a real live rodeo? In October, the Harvesters will have the opportunity to have that rodeo experience as they travel to Arcadia for an afternoon at the Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo.
The rodeo began its life as a modest event sponsored by the American Legion whose goal was to raise enough money for a new building for the organization. That was 88 years ago!
The event was much more successful than its organizers had hoped. It grew over the years, weathered the Great Depression and today is the “Grandaddy of ‘em All” that has become one of the premier rodeos in Florida, and even the nation. The cowboys you'll see in Arcadia are among the best professional rodeo athletes in the country. The venue for the rodeo is the new Mosaic Arena.
The Harvesters have reserved premium-seat tickets for Saturday, October 19. The seats are located across from the release chutes for a bird’s-eye view of the action and all the seats have seat-backs.
We will be carpooling for this event and will leave the Harvest parking lot at 11:30 AM so that you will arrive at the arena by 1:00 PM in time for the Opening Quadrille. Following the Quadrille will be a Mutton Bustin’ event where the youngsters get involved. The actual rodeo starts at 2:00 PM and will include such events as bronco riding, barrel racing, bull riding, and team roping – just to name a few. At the conclusion of the rodeo, a special event called “Bullfighters Only” is sure to WOW! the crowd. This event pits the skill and agility of the cowboy with the power and speed of the bull.
Due to the timing of this event, we will not be gathering for an organized meal, but there are concession stands at the arena that serve all-American stadium fare like hamburgers, barbecue, hot dogs, etc. should you wish to grab a bite during the rodeo.
At the conclusion of the event, approximately 5:30 PM, you put your horsepower in drive and head towards the sunset! Your choice if you stop for vittles on the way home!
Cost for the trip is $31/person which includes your seat for the rodeo. We have reserved 40 tickets for this event. Reservation deadline is October 1 or when the tickets are gone whichever comes first.
